Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American actress singer and former model. She was the lead female performer in Apollonia 6 and co-starred in Prince's film Purple Rain from 1984. Apollonia was christened as an actress and singer by Prince. Through the 1980s she was among numerous artists who benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero is a Californian actress born in the city of Santa Monica in 1959. Her early career included acting as a model for television. In 1984, she was cast as the leading lady in Prince's Purple Rain. (During this time period, she also changed her name.) She then replaced Vanity as a member of the female trio Vanity 6 who starred in the film alongside Apollonia 6 under their name. Sex Shooter, a minor hit song that was featured on the soundtrack, was her biggest chart success. Kotero and Prince have a disagreement regarding her career. The Apollonia6 duo split up, Kotero didn't continue her relationship with Prince. Kotero was in a few minor film projects during this time however, she was not able to be involved in the Purple Rain sequel Under the Cherry Moon. Between 1985 and 1986, she got a role in the show called Falcon Crest. Apollonia could finally release her debut album in the year 1988. Unfortunately, it did not leave an lasting impression with music fans and was soon obliterated from the music scene. The singer remained busy (if somewhat under the radar) as an actress during the ensuing decade with small television roles and minor films and released an exercise video. In 1997 Apollonia released a Spanish/English album called Stay With me. Then, she went back to college and received an education in filmmaking. She also formed her own production firm. Apollonia Kotero is famous as a multi-faceted person. She was a model, singer actress and talent manager. She was in 1984 when she received a nomination for her performance in Purple Rain.
