Formerly a top fashion model at 5'10'' in height, Carey was an a fan favorite of the top American designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. In 1979, the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists voted the father of her Scientist of The Year. The father of Carey was a scientist who travelled around the world as part of his career. As she was attending in the University of Colorado, Carey started modeling for a side. The Ford's model agency located in New York noticed her and was willing to assist. The year was 1980 when she emigrated to France where she briefly resided in Paris and Bordeaux and then returned in New York in order to pursue an acting career. She appeared on Vogue and Glamour pages. In between her modeling assignments she was a full-time student obtaining a major in literary studies at New York University. She became more interested in acting and began studying in the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. Her acting debut was an appearance alongside Robin Williams in the 1986 film 'Club Paradise. Skiing, white water rafting as well as rock climbing are some of her most loved activities.
